Every year more than 30 students, postgraduates, young scientists and specialists from the Mining University are awarded grants and scholarships by foreign education and scientific foundations, and various educational and scientific associations and organizations.

1.Scientific work on recycling energy resources and energy efficiency

Available till 01.03.2014

Young scientists, students and postgraduate students of Russian high schools under 35who work on recycling power engineering and energy efficiency are eligible to take part.

Categories are as follows:

  • Technical aspects of recycling energy resources;
  • Economic aspects of recycling energy resources in Russia;
  • Legal aspects of recycling energy resources in Russia
  • Proposals should include one or several of the following: wind power; solar power; hydropower; bio-power; ocean power; energy efficiency.

2. Scholarship competition for investigation projects at the Diploma, Master’s and Doctor's levels (Scholarship Foundation of the Republic of Austria)

Available till 01.03.2014

The fields of the Competition: natural, technical, social science; economics.
The scholarship can be used at any Austrian university.
Foreign students working on investigation projects at Diploma, Master's and Doctor's levels can take part in the competition.

3. Grants of 2014 for young scientists (Leibniz-DAAD Research Fellowships) in the field of: ecology; natural sciences; engineer subjects; mathematics; etc.

The joint program of investigation grants (scholarships) of Leibniz Research Institute Association (Wissenschaftsgemeinschaft Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz) and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) – Leibniz-DAAD Research Fellowships (established in 2011)

The scholarships (PostDoc) allow promising Candidates of Sciences to participate in scientific investigations at the institutes of the Association in Germany in the following areas:

Section A: Humanitarian subjects and educational investigations;

Section B: Economic and social investigations; space exploration;

Section C: Life Sciences;

Section D: Mathematics; natural sciences; engineering;

Section E: Ecology.

4. Grants for 2014-2015 for young specialists from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) in all areas of humanitarian, social and natural sciences.

Pre-/post-doctoral researchers of all specialties can participate in the program in the fields of humanitarian, social and natural sciences.

The deadlines for participating in JSPS projects are:

First deadline:      October 7-11, 2013

Second deadline:   January 6-10, 2014

Third deadline:     April 7-11, 2014

Fourth deadline:     July 7-11, 2014

5. Newton International Fellowships at the British Academy and London’s Royal Society for young scientists in natural, humanitarian and social subjects for the most promising young researchers from different countries and their possible participation in post-doctoral research in British universities over a two-year period.

Application forms should be handed in from 15.01.2014 till 10.03.2014

Young scientists with PhD Degrees working in natural, humanitarian and social subjects can take part in this program.

6. The Consortium of Economic Researches and Education is organizing the competition for economic research called 'Spring-2014'.  

Application forms should be handed in till 12.04.2014

The grant is designed to support research linked to relevant issues of economic and social development of the Community of Independent States. Those researchers/economists who have CIS citizenship and who live on its territory can take part.
