Dean’s Office

The Dean’s Office for International Students is the university department that reports directly to the first vice-rector and, together with other departments, fulfils the functions of planning and organization for foreign citizens studying at the University.

The Dean’s Office for International Students conducts its activities according to the laws of the Russian Federation, normative documents, letters of instruction, orders and decisions of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, and the rules of the National Mineral Resources University (the Mining University).

Functions of the Dean’s Office for International Students

  • Promotional activities of educational services;
  • Admissions;
  • Monitoring of legalization of foreign documents concering the student’s education;
  • Office management;
  • Joint monitoring of current and final academic progress;
  • Correspondence with the Office of International Education and Cooperation of the Federal Agency of Education and other governmental authorities, embassies and consulates of different countries;
  • Graduation;
  • Communication with international alumni;
  • Coordination of the International Friendship Club, The Miner.

The University has been training highly qualified staff for foreign countries since 1946. It has gained extensive experience in working with international students of all categories: students on the university preparation course, current students, postgraduates, doctoral students and trainees. Over this period, more than 2,300 engineers, 290 Doctors and Candidates of Sciences for more than 80 countries in all major subject areas have graduated from the University.

In order to address the issue of integration into the international education system, in 1993 the University started teaching using to a multi-level system of higher education which includes Specialist (Engineer), Bachelor and Master’s degree programs.
