  • meteorological observations.

Laboratory of modelling of ecological situation.

Laboratory of modeling of ecological situation are intended for performance of  defining the qualitative and quantitative composition and properties of soil and plant cover, bottom sediments, sludge, natural, waste water and drinking water and atmospheric air in laboratory conditions using high-precision analytical equipment.

The aim of the laboratory activity is to train bachelors, students and post-graduate students of environmental and technological specialties modern methods of ecological monitoring of the atmospheric air, natural and waste water, soil and vegetation, conducting research in the areas of monitoring, evaluation and control of the technogenic impacts, ecological expertise; ensuring implementation of the existing equipment of laboratory tests (sampling and analysis of composition and properties of soil-vegetation cover, bottom sediments, sludge, natural, waste and drinking water, atmospheric air, conducting air monitoring, geophysical monitoring) and provision of services to researchers and research teams of both the University and other users.

The main tasks of the Unit are:

  • training and laboratory classes on disciplines: «Methods and devices of environmental control», «Modern methods of ecological researches», «Geochemistry of the environment», «Geochemistry of the environment and landscape», for specialists of the direction of training 022000 «Ecology and nature use» and the bachelors of the direction of preparation 130400 «Mining» (specialization 8 «Mining ecology»), for students of the technological specialties of the University on the subject «Ecology»;
  • conducting educational and industrial practices for specialists of the speciality 022000 «Ecology and nature use» and the bachelors of the direction of preparation 130400 «Mining» (specialization 8 «Mining ecology»);
  • organization and execution of specialized laboratory tests (sampling and analysis of composition and properties of soil and plant cover, bottom sediments, sludge, natural, waste and drinking water, atmospheric air), conducting air monitoring, geophysical monitoring, using the unique laboratory equipment;
  • carrying out special courses to improve qualification of teachers, scientists, engineers and technicians in «Ecology and rational nature management», training personnel of higher qualification, retraining on modern instrument-laboratory base ;
  • target training of specialists, bachelors, undergraduates and graduate students in the field of environmental monitoring.

The training grounds

 The training ground «Solnechnoe»

The training ground «Solnechnoe» is geoecological polygon located near to St. Petersburg on the shore of the Gulf of Finland in the forest-park zone.

The training ground «Solnechnoe» is intended for research workers, post graduates and students.

Environmental works here are carried out with the help of a mobile environmental laboratory (figure), which includes the following devices:
