Brief Historical Background

Hibinsky Technical College (Hibinogorsk Mining and Chemical College) is the oldest technical school of the Murmansk region. It was founded on October 31, 1931 by Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR.

In April 2008 Hibinsky Technical College became a branch of the University of Mines in Kirovsk.

News and Events

From 13 to 17 May 2013 in "Hibiny Technical College" which is the branch of the University of Mines an exhibition-competition of students’ creative works took place.

In this exhibition-competition 135 students from 15 groups led by 11 teachers participated. 131 artworks were presented. Among them there are laboratory benches, electrical currents, models, multimedia presentations, essays and creative works.

With a view to the promotion and development of university sports in the Murmansk region on May 23 at Apatity an open tournament of paintball teams among secondary and higher educational institutions of Murmansk region was held. 9 teams took part in this game. They were from Kirovsk, Apatity, Revda, Kovdor and Murmansk. The competition was attended by two Hibiny college teams, one of which reached the finals and took the second place behind the team of Bauman.

Winning team consists of Jacob Bagrov (gr. 2RRM), Maxim Trubenev (gr. 2RRM), Alexey Zhuldybin (gr. 2RRM), Anton Vinogradov (gr. 2RRM), Maxim Pupaev (gr. 2RRM), Danil Kuranov (gr.1RRM), Daniel Meshalkin (gr.1RRM), Elvira Sviyazeva (gr. 2SGN), Roman Repchenko (gr. 2SGN).

 

On May 29-30, 2013 in Small Hall of Kirov City Palace of Culture Regional a Scientific-practical conference dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Murmansk region was held. The whole history of the last 75 years is the history of creation and labor achievements of northerners. It is a story of love to their homeland and faith in its future.

Reports were submitted by KTC of RAS scientists, historians, archivists, journalists, teachers of Apatite Medical College, as well as faculty, staff and students of the Mining University branch "Hibiny Technical College".

The conference participants considered and discussed poster presentations, reflecting past, present and future of the Kola region, decorated by students and staff of the branch:

  • “Apatite" yesterday, today and tomorrow" (students of gr. 2 HEV F. Hamitsevich, V. Kharchenko. Supervisor and curator is T. Vikulova),
  • “City at the foot of the Hibiny" (student of gr. 2 COP E. Kerzhina. The supervisor and curator is L. Pogorelenko),
  • “To Pioneers of Hibiny dedicated" (teacher N. Buravkina).
  • “Secrets of geographical names of Kola Peninsula" (teacher N. Knyazheva)

At the conference the following reports were presented:

  • “Native Land cannot be cold" (graduate KTC K. Lukovskaya. The supervisor is service engineer N. Voytenkova)
  • “RUBTSOV reading in Hibiny Technical College" (students of gr.1 ACC I. Pribytkova and A. Ledneva A. The supervisor is the teacher I. Sydorovych).

Participants of the conference had a very intense program. They had excursions to the departmental Museum Society "Apatite" and Koashvinsky quarry mine of Eastern Society "Apatite".
